The Open Group Percussion Workshops are educational, inclusive, and accessible activities where participants have the opportunity to learn and practice Brazilian percussion in person, anywhere in the world. These musical experiences exercise perception, improvisation, social interaction, creative expression, and connection with culture, in 5 modalities:

The Children's Percussion Workshop aims to introduce children to the world of percussion in a fun and educational way, stimulating motor coordination, group interaction, and creativity.
The children participate in activities with percussion instruments, and we also teach them the basic concepts of rhythm, timbre, duration, intensity, and pitch in a playful way.
Together, we created a short presentation, encouraging the children to play together and respect the collective time.
Target Audience
Children over 6 years old.

The goal of the Samba School Drumming Workshop is to teach participants the playing techniques and fundamentals of the 9 most commonly used instruments in a samba school drum section: surdos (1st, 2nd and 3rd), repinique, tamborim, caixa, agogô, ganzá and cuíca.
In this workshop we practice rhythm, motor coordination, teamwork, collective listening, traditional rhythms and rhythmic variations.
Target Audience
Ages 10 and up, of all levels (beginner to advanced).
The Percussion Workshop in the Samba Circle aims to practice techniques and fundamentals of the 9 most commonly used instruments in a traditional Brazilian samba circle: pandeiro, tantan, repique de mão, ganzá, reco-reco, tamborim, cuíca, surdo and agogô.
Working in groups allows us to create diverse possibilities for percussive arrangements and musical interaction. The proposed activities respect the level of each participant.

The Brazilian Rhythms Workshops by the Percussion Collective offer an immersion into the rhythms that shape Brazil's sonic identity. With a methodology that dynamically integrates theory and practice, the in-person sessions explore everything from the pulse of samba to the richness of Northeastern rhythms. The workshops are designed to provide an interactive learning environment where instrumental technique and rhythmic sensitivity are developed with continuous and personalized support.

The goal of the Instrument Immersion Workshops is to introduce and deepen the use of the instrument in the interpretation of rhythms such as samba, baião, xote, coco, and ijexá, developing technique and rhythmic perception, while simultaneously stimulating the practical application of the instrument in different musical contexts, valuing creativity and Brazilian rhythmic identity.
