The Instruments
We offer instruction in over 20 percussion instruments: pandeiro, cajón, tamborim, tantan, surdo, cuíca, repique de mão, reco-reco, agogô, triangle, zabumba, caixa, repinique, ganzá, among others.
The Rhythms
At Coletivo Percussão, we teach more than 15 different Brazilian and African-based rhythms: samba, coco, xaxado, baião, samba-reggae, frevo, arrasta-pé, maracatu, maxixe, ijexá, frevo, nagô, angola, marcação, congo de ouro, samba cabula, barravento, among others.
The Method
We utilize the Collective Percussion Method , focusing on teaching techniques and instrument practice, stimulating listening and musical perception, repertoire selection, and rhythmic reading.
